ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

High Bluff Academy is a great place to learn English! We offer three levels of ESL: introductory, intermediate and advanced. Our outstanding teachers know how to engage students and make them feel relaxed and supported so that they can practice their new language without fear of making mistakes. Through the use of a variety of written materials, group activities, and practice with native speakers, our ESL students make dramatic improvement in their speaking, listening , reading and writing. International students can progress through the program at their own pace, attending classes with our native-speaking students when they are ready. Individual and group tutoring is built into the school day, so students have expert teachers to guide them through challenging assignments. Peer discussion groups take place during lunch so that international students practice their conversation skills with American students.

Preparation for the TOEFL exam is integral to all of our ESL courses.
